This study explores the interpretation of Qur'anic verses related to work and life balance, examining the phenomena of hustle culture and workaholism through the framework of the maqasid al-Qur'an, particularly their effects on Hifz al-din (religious preservation), Hifz al-nafs (preservation of life), and Hifz al-'aql (intellect preservation). Employing a qualitative library research method, this study draws upon classical Qur'anic commentaries as primary sources, complemented by books, journals, and other scholarly publications as secondary sources. The findings reveal that Islam regards work as a meaningful form of worship; nevertheless, it should be performed in a balanced and moderate manner without diverting individuals from their purpose in the Hereafter. Qur'anic verses, such as Al-Nur 24:37, Al-Qasas 28:77, Al-Hadid 57:20, Al-Jumu'ah 62:10, and Al-Takasur 102:1-2, highlight the importance of balancing worldly pursuits with the Hereafter and caution against excessive preoccupation with material possessions. These teachings provide a critical perspective on hustle culture and workaholism. The Qur'an promotes the principle of tawazun (balance) as an approach to preserving religion, life, and intellect, thereby supporting the attainment of well-being and divine blessing in both worldly life and the Hereafter.
